MEET AARON
BIOGRAPHY
Aaron Berg is a dedicated public servant, municipal leader, and community advocate with extensive experience in local government, public safety, education, and community development. After serving more than eleven years in law enforcement and campus public safety in North Dakota, Aaron and his family relocated to Cambridge in 2014, where he quickly became deeply involved in the community through education, youth activities, local government, and volunteer leadership.

Aaron was also appointed to the City of Cambridge Planning Commission in
2019 and later served as Chairman. Following his election to the Cambridge
City Council, he stepped down from the Planning Commission to continue serving the community in his elected role. As a City Council member, Aaron remains focused on supporting responsible growth, infrastructure improvements, fiscal responsibility, public safety, and strong city services for residents. Aaron was nominated in 2025 for the League of Minnesota Cities "Emerging Leader Award".
Aaron spent several years working within the Cambridge-Isanti School District
and the Rum River Special Education Cooperative, supporting students and
families while also coaching five seasons of high school baseball. In 2019,
he was elected to the Cambridge-Isanti School Board, where he served four
years, including service as Vice Chairman. One of the proudest moments of his
public service was having the opportunity to hand both of his children, Abbey
and Brayden, their diplomas during graduation ceremonies.
Professionally, Aaron has built a career in municipal government and public administration. From July 2022 through December 2024, he served as City Planner and later Community Development Director for the City of East Bethel, where he worked extensively in planning and zoning, economic development, ordinance development, strategic planning, and community growth initiatives. In January 2025, Aaron joined the City of Columbus as Assistant City Administrator, where he continues his work in municipal operations, budgeting, policy implementation, and community development.

Motivated to further strengthen his leadership and public administration expertise, Aaron earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Valdosta State University in December 2021. His professional and educational background has provided him with extensive knowledge in governance, municipal finance, ethics, human resources, and organizational leadership. Aaron believes elected officials have a responsibility to lead with integrity, professionalism, accountability, and common sense while remaining accessible and responsive to the residents they serve.
Aaron and his wife, Jenna, own their home in Cambridge, where they live with their French bulldog, Vinny and their cats Joe Meower and Luna. Aaron previously served as President of the Minnesota Beard and Moustache Coalition and continues to support community organizations and local charitable initiatives. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors, curling at the Cambridge Curling Club, competitive bearding, home brewing, refurbishing turn of the century copper fire extinguishers and fantasy baseball and football. Together, Aaron and Jenna enjoy community events, local arts, baseball and softball, craft beer, and supporting the many organizations and activities that help make Cambridge a strong and vibrant community.
It would be my honor to continue serving the residents of Cambridge, and I respectfully ask for
your vote.
Aaron M. Berg
